Top News StoriesFreddie debuts in style at Donington - April 11th 2007
It was my first outing in Freddie and he did me proud, apart from the fact that I had no rear brakes in qualifying, not that it caused me too many problems, in fact it just served as a good excuse to be a long way away from the lights once again. A quick change of brake bias in the break meant I had absolutely no idea what I would be driving when I went out for the heat...turned out it was back to being way quicker than me and I was two seconds quicker than in qualifying - we finished 19th out of 36 (I think) and qualified for the final - FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!
Some other thank you's - to the guys that fiddled with my bias (if you know what I'm saying) - to Mark Glover for covering the track in oil and allowing me to go into work on Monday morning and tell people I beat him (sort of) - to Stuart Taylor Motorsport for keeping Freddie safe in their garage overnight and for leaving about 3 litres of gearbox oil on the floor for him to play with and last but not least to Pippa for selling me the car!! This is a great series to be a part of - I was greeted as if I'd never been away, the welcome was amazing and sitting in the queue for scrutineering it was interesting to see how many people had adopted the now standard piece of blue string from cockpit to kill switch...leading edge technology at its best. |
